Dietary Preparations

Pre dieta preparation - Peru

Best would be to begin 2 weeks before the dieta, minimum of one week:

Avoid sex, pork, red meat, turkey, tuna in cans, sugar, alcohol , drugs, dairy , chocolate, coffee, aged and fermented foods, cheeses, lime, lemon, oranges, nectarine, medications* and supplements, sweets (everything with sweet flavor, honey, agave, artificial sweeteners, etc.) Fruit is allowed, though avoid overripe bananas. Consider limiting salt for a few days.

Please note that in addition to the dietary preparations ceremony attendees are requested to wear white clothing to the ceremonies.

Post dieta - Peru

Minimum of 15 days, best 3 months:

Avoid sex, spicy foods, spicy peppers, spices in general, pork, red meat, turkey, tuna in cans, sugar, alcohol, drugs, dairy, coffee, chocolate, aged and fermented foods, cheeses, lime, lemon, oranges, nectarine, medications*, supplements, sweets in general (see above), anything that comes in a can. Avoid dairy for one week. Fruit is allowed.

For a single ceremony
Please note that in addition to the dietary preparations ceremony attendees are requested to wear white clothing
to the ceremonies.

Before the ceremony it is best to follow for one week, minimum 3 days:

Avoid pork, red meat, spicy foods or spicy peppers, alcohol, drugs, medicines*, lemon and oranges, nectarine, sugar, sex. Consider limiting salt for a few days before ceremony.

The day of the ceremony a light breakfast of oats (no milk or sugar) in the morning is advised with fasting recommended for the balance of the day until the ceremony.

After the ceremony the same restrictions for a minimum of 5 days, best is 15 days. Avoid dairy for at least three days after ceremony.

Rice/whole grains
Salads/soups (take care to avoid salad dressings with sugar)
Juices
Seeds
Nuts
Fruit (except nectarines and overripe bananas)
